1. The Church is God's chosen people
   1. In the Old Testament, God had chosen the Israelites
      1. Immanuel
      2. God made covenants and promises only to the Israelites
      3. God's goodness and faithfulness is not based on our goodness and faithfulness
      4. Marriage in the Old Testament
   2. In the New Testament, salvation was for those who believed (Romans 1:16)
      1. Gentiles were accepted into Judaism at the end of the Old Testament (Isaiah 42:6-7; 56:6-7)
   3. Did God change? No.
2. God chose the Israelites to teach what a chosen people means (Deuteronomy 7:6-10)
   1. God's chosen are treasured
   2. God keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and his commandments
   3. God's chosen are called to be a light to the nations
3. Are you chosen?
   1. God has already initiated through Christ
   2. Being chosen gives you freedom from fear
   3. Being chosen should overflow your heart with worship
