Summary:
Jesus, the king of all, came to the world as a king. He was born in Bethlehem, to the house of David. Shepherds and magi worshiped him, and the heavenly hosts and angels praised. However, the baby king was laid in a manger, not on a luxury bed. Why? First of all, the king in a manger shows what kind of king Jesus is. Jesus' kingship was humble. He is not oppressing but lowering, and not greedy but loving. This humble messiah rejected by the Jews because it was contradictory to their expectation. In order not to make a same mistake as Jews, we should humbly go to God, as God humbly came to us. Secondly, the king in a manger shows what kind of love he has. Jesus spent all 40 weeks in his mother's womb. He spent all the baby time, toddler time and childhood, which are not even recorded in the bible. Why? Couldn't he become a human without other easier and faster way? I believe he could have. Then, why did he spend all the time, being fed, protected, and raised by his parents? It is love. If you are in love, you want to be like other parts. You want to share everything with your lover. And through incarnation God did the exact thing. God became like us. This is the love God showed us. And this is the love that we should have and bring to our neighbors in this Christmas season. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let us humbly go to God, and bring His love to our neighbors!!
